World Class Rowing to Return to High Point on October 5, 2025

The 2025 High Point Autumn Rowing Festival will again host international rowing teams racing against regional NCAA programs for the Dr. Lenny Peters Cup when the annual event takes place at Oak Hollow Lake On October 5.

The annual rowing regatta presented by Bethany Medical & the Lenny Peters Foundation continues to grow and attract world wide interest.

"We expect a record number of 1100 rowers and several thousand spectators at this year's regatta," says race director Gene Kininmonth. "The international lineups that will headline the event will be announced on September 5."

The Lenny Peters Cup is raced for twice  each year in the spring and the fall. The Autumn event involves several boat races between regional Division I women's programs and international crews with the cup awarded to the winner of the final race being the Dash. Last year saw the Ukraine Olympic women's team win the Lenny Peters Cup over Duke University and the University of Oxford, England. Old Dominion University, and local favorite High Point University trailed closely behind.

Also racing as part of the rowing festival will be regional collegiate club teams, youth programs, and adults participating in Masters categories by age.

With key corporate support coming from Bethany Medical and the Lenny Peters Foundation, the sport of rowing has taken off at Oak Hollow Lake. "The influx of funding support from Dr. Peters and the direction he has provided our race committee has guided these rowing events to an international standard," says Kininmonth.
